Telling Our Stories Do you have a story to tell? Innovative worship ideas that have had unexpected results? Struggles that your congregation is facing? Experiences of the Holy in your midst? Why not share them with the rest of Conference! Telling our Stories is a project of the Conference Communication Strategy Committee designed to connect our wide and diverse Conference by sharing some of our significant moments with each other. There are lots of interesting, exciting, sometimes challenging things happening throughout our Conference.

Here’s how it works. We are looking for interesting stories about things that have happened in your congregation that would be of interest to the wider church. This is not a report about your fall supper or 100th anniversary, but might be about a recent interfaith worship experience, or exciting justice project, or maybe how you are implementing the Emerging Spirit program, or perhaps an issue you are struggling with. The articles will be posted on the Conference website and in our Weekly News. Anyone can write and we are offering a $50 honorarium*. Articles should be 300 to 600 words and can include pictures, but should not be formatted in any special way. A picture of the event or author should be included. Your name will be posted with the article. Articles will be reviewed and vetted through the Conference Communication Strategy Committee. We will publish about 2 of these articles a month as a way of sharing the Good News with one another on a more regular basis. If you think you would like to write something but aren't sure, contact Lynda Trono at ltrono@confmnwo.mb.ca We can go over your idea with you.
* The $50 honorarium is designed to recognize the specific effort that volunteers need to put into writing and reviewing an article of this nature. Authors of articles chosen for publication will receive this honorarium. It is important to note that we may not be able to publish all articles submitted.
* Conference Staff and committees of Conference, given that part of their mandate is to communicate with Conference, will not be eligible for this honorarium.
