Conference Staff Profile: Judy Hare - Conference Personnel Minister

Judy Hare
Conference Personnel Minister
ext. 228 jhare@confmnwo.mb.ca

Judy is the program staff person with primary responsibility for personnel matters. Since joining the Conference Staff Team in 2005, she has been the staff resource to Conference committees in the areas related to ministry personnel, students and candidates, including Conference Education, Students & Church Vocations Committee, Interim Ministry Committee, Internship & Educational Supervision Committee, Interview Board and Settlement Committee. Much of her time is given to support of ministry personnel, congregations and Presbyteries with personnel policy-related questions, or in times of change, transition or crisis. Judy is also responsible for resourcing the Conference Sexual Abuse Policy Implementation Committee and for other matters related to the processing of complaints related to the policy itself.

Judy is available to assist with planning and/or implementing workshops with Conference, Presbyteries and Pastoral Charges in areas relating to ministry personnel, students and candidates including workshops for Ministry & Personnel Committees, Joint Needs Assessment Committees, Joint Search Committees, Discernment Committees and workshops on matters related to the church’s various conflict resolution processes. She is also responsible for forging and maintaining connections to ministry personnel in the Conference, providing appropriate support and information on everything from matters related to salary, pensions and benefits to  Restorative Care and Long Term Disability to Continuing Education and Sabbatical planning.

Judy is currently the Conference liaison with Selkirk Presbytery.

Prior to joining the Conference staff team, Judy ministered in pastoral charges in Alberta & Northwest Conference and Manitou Conference. Judy brings to her work as Personnel Minister a belief that fair and just processes and policies allow for both order and creativity to happen within and through  the institution that we know and love as the church !
